Plauener Spitzen und Stickereien GmbH is a traditional textile company based in the Vogtland region of Germany, carrying on the world-renowned tradition of “Plauener Spitze” (Plauen Lace) and embroidery. The company’s history is closely linked to the development of the Plauen lace industry.

The roots of the company date back to 1904.
The name “Plauener Spitze” gained worldwide recognition after winning the Grand Prix at the Paris World Exhibition in 1900. This success established the Plauen region as one of Europe’s most important centers for lace and embroidery.
Throughout the 20th century, the company and manufacturers in the region continued their production despite wars, economic crises, and the state-controlled economy during the former GDR era.
Following German reunification, the industry underwent another phase of privatization. In 1993, the company was restructured and oriented towards modern production methods and technologies.
After relocating from Plauen to Oelsnitz/Vogtland, the company invested approximately €10 million in new production facilities and modern embroidery technologies.
Since 1995, the company has been presenting its collections internationally under the brand name “Plauspitz.”
Today, our company produces and distributes modern curtain fabrics, high-quality embroidery, appliqués, and decorative fabrics, available both in coupon formats and in piece/roll assortments.
We stand for quality, design diversity, and reliable service at an international level. Our products are exported to markets throughout Europe, Japan, and the United States.
“Plauener Spitze” is not merely a product; it is also a protected quality designation in Germany. Only selected manufacturers and specialist retailers are authorized to use this designation.
Today, the industry focuses increasingly on:
With its long-standing tradition, modern production capabilities, and international market presence, Plauener Spitzen und Stickereien GmbH continues to combine the heritage of Plauener Spitze with contemporary textile design and innovative production technologies.
